16th Annual Angel Babies Walk/Run

Welcome to Team Amila Rey!

We are so excited to kick off our second annual Team Amila Rey walk for Angel Babies.

As many of you know, Angel Babies was a critical source of support for our family when dealing with the sudden, unexpected, tragic and traumatic loss of Amila.

Through Angel Babies counseling sessions our family was able to work through some of the initial shock and begin to deal with the grief and pain that accompanied our devastating loss.

In fact, it was through many counseling sessions that the seeds of The Amila Rey Foundation were planted. Through the encouragement of Angel Babies director, Kathy Cromwell, we were able to see the beauty of each rainbow and the promises they hold, and thus the beginings of The Amila Rey Foundation were born.

Our family will be forever grateful for the kindness and support that Angel Babies has provided us.

Angel Babies provides services to any bereaved family member, regardless of their ability to pay, making this an important, valuable and critical resource to our community.

We hope that you will join Amila's Team and help us not only honor Amila's life but thank Angel Babies for all they have done for our family and our community.

Event Day Schedule

6:45 am: Registration begins
7:30 am: Mission Program
8:15 am: 5k Start
8:30 am: 2 mile Start
9:15 am: Kids Races Ages 7-10 (1/4 mile)
9:20 am: Kids Races Ages 5-6 (1/8 mile)
9:25 am: Kids Races Ages 4 & under (1/8 mile)
9:30 am: Raffle                                                                                       

**9:45 am: Light Refreshments and Fun for Team Amila Rey, provided by The Amila Rey Foundaiton

Parking in the park is free before 8:00 am. After 8:00 am, there will be a $5 per car charge. Parking fills up fast, so be sure to arrive early!

Walk Festivities
Kids Zone: There will be lots of FREE fun, games and prizes for kids, including a cake walk and face painting!

Mission Tent: Be sure to stop by our mission tent to sign our banner and let us know why you walk, send a message to heaven, or just say hello to our Center for Grief & Healing staff.

Can I bring my dog?
Yes, but all dogs must be on a leash.

Does everyone need to register?
Anyone that is participating in any of our events (5k, 2 mile or kids races), must register and sign a waiver.

What happens if it’s raining on event day?
The Angel Babies Walk will be held rain or shine, so you may need to bring an umbrella or a poncho. In the event of severe weather, Hinds Hospice staff may cancel or postpone an event. This information will be communicated through an event email and social media posts to the Hinds Hospice and Angel Babies Facebook pages.
