Welcome to My Personal Page
Welcome to our team page. We are seeking donations for an important cause. We are supporting Angel Babies, and we hope you will join us in whatever way you can. Angel Babies is a vital resource for families who have lost a baby or have a baby with a life-limiting illness.
People are not taught how to deal with the death of a baby. Our friends and family often don't know what to say. Most people expect the parents, especially the father, to return to work/school within a few days after the loss and be "back to normal" within a matter of months. But the death of a baby changes parents forever, and results in a uniquely deep and personal grieving process. The Angel Babies/Bebitos Angelitos bereavement service at Hinds Hospice provides families with helpful information and support during their journey of grief and mourning.
I knew about Angel Babies through work as a social worker. I had never known anyone that participated in their services until we partipcated ourselves. Ever since being connected with Angel Babies, we have met so many wonderful people. People who work for Angel Babies and other families that have received services. We are so grateful for this program and we hope to raise money for this program yearly so they can keep helping other families that experience the death of a baby in our community.
Our story: We had our first son, Brandon Tan Xiong, on 10.23.19 (due 2.29.20). He was born right before 22 weeks. He died about 30 minutes after his birth. We miss him so much. We had our second son, Phoenix Xiong, on 01.19.23 (due 6.12.23) right before 20 weeks. This was our IVF baby and our last embryo from our first egg retrieval. During his pregnancy we participated in the Pregnancy After Loss Support group that occurs monthly.
It has been a difficult journey, but being involved with Angel Babies has helped so much. We have participated in Grief Counseling off and on and the Angel Baby Support Group more than once. I have now begun volunteering as the co-facilitator of the Angel Babies Group this Spring 2024. I have seen how far I have come since the death of each of my babies and I know I couldn't have done it without my support system and Angel Babies. I hope to continue volunteering for Angel Babies and to talk with and help other families like us navigate life after loss.
Thank you and we hope you join our family and friends on May 18th. This is our fifth time participating. If you cannot make it in person you can still particpate on your own and sign up for our team, or please think about giving a small donation in memory of Brandon and Phoenix. There should be a donation button on the right side of this page. Please help us support this important community service. This local program is only available at Hinds Hospice and depends on community funding.
Thank you so much. Love Jennifer, Leevon, Brandon, Phoenix, and doggy siblings Remy, Leia & Luna.
